It would be impossible to list all the things to see and do
in Northern Arizona, and one could spend a lifetime here
and never have enough time to take it all in. The items on
this page are just a very few examples of what Northern
Arizona has to offer. The good news is that Winslow is in
the center of all these attractions. Back in 1930, La
Posada Hotel was built in Winslow as a base for the
Harvey Car Detours, a series of regional day trips the
adventurer could take out into the surrounding area.
Travelers would spend the day at the Petrified Forest, the
Hopi Mesas or the Mogollon Rim and would return to the
luxury of La Posada each night. Here are a few
present-day "detours" you can take when you visit
Winslow.
