PLANNING YOUR VISIT
TO NORTHERN ARIZONA
It would be impossible to list all the things to see and do in Northern Arizona, and you could spend a
lifetime here and never take it all in. The items on this page are just a very few examples of what Northern
Arizona has to offer. The good news is that Winslow is in the center of all these attractions. Back in 1930,
La Posada Hotel was built in Winslow as a base for the Harvey Car Detours, a series of regional day trips
the adventurer could take out into the surrounding area. Travelers would spend the day at the Petrified
Forest, the Hopi Mesas, or the Mogollon Rim, and would return to the luxury of La Posada each night.
Below are a few present-day "detours" you can take when you visit Winslow, and you can click on most
images for more information.
