The Winslow Historical Society, in conjunction with SNOWDRIFT Art
Space, is one of six Arizona communities chosen by the Arizona
Humanities Council to host the Smithsonian’s Between Fences traveling
exhibition, which will visit Nogales, Ajo, Globe, Topawa, Cottonwood, and
Winslow from October 2007 through August 2008. Along with hosting the
Smithsonian exhibition, sites are developing local exhibits and programming
to tell their own stories of fences. As part of Winslow’s contribution to the
project, this Web site will document the Arizona communities’ preparations
and various interpretations of Between Fences.
